Asian Society for Environmental Protection (ASEP)

EMPASIA – Project Partner Thailand

Founded in 1984, ASEP is an international non-profit association made up of professionals and institutions committed to the pursuit of sound environmental management and protection with the goal of achieving sustainable development in the Asian region. Concomitant with the region‘s economic development, and in spite of the economic difficulties many Asian countries are facing at this time, ASEP plays a pivotal role in information exchange and dissemination as well as in professional training and industry service activities addressing various business management issues.

The society is known for its active partnership with various national, regional and international institutions in organizing seminars, workshops and symposia as well as piloting innovative solutions in industry. Today, the society has more than 250 individual and institutional members from 30 countries throughout the world. Members are mainly managers, policy-makers, consultants, members of the academic and R&D community and staff members from national, regional and international institutions and societies who all share a common interest in promoting the values of sustainable development.

In this context, ASEP is a key partner with respect to involving and networking with appropriate Malaysian partners from industry, NGOs and administration bodies.

ASEP will also provide its considerable expertise (local staff and expatriate personnel) and resources to carry out key project activities especially in the area of capacity building and alliance building.
